Europe Shipping Update 🌍

I am pleased to offer shipping to Europe. Please note that customs duties, import taxes, or handling fees are not included in the shipping cost shown at checkout.

I want to be completely transparent about how customs charges work for orders shipped to Europe.

Unlike shipments to the United States, Royal Mail does not show or confirm the exact customs and import charges at the time of shipping for European orders, even when I provide full and accurate item descriptions. This means I am unable to see or confirm the precise customs cost in advance.

In contrast, for US orders, Royal Mail clearly shows the customs charges once the item is declared, which allows me to include these costs accurately in the shipping price.

Because customs charges for Europe are applied later in the delivery process and are not visible to me at the point of shipping, any customs charges applied by European customs authorities are the responsibility of the customer and must be paid directly to the courier or customs office before delivery.

All Europe parcels are sent via Royal Mail International Tracked, and full tracking is provided for every order.

  • Customs and duties: Not included; payable by the customer

  • Delivery timeframe: Typically 5–7 working days, depending on location

  • Tracking: Included on all Europe and international orders

Unfortunately, I have no control over customs charges, as these are set by local authorities and may vary depending on the order value.

US Shipping Update 🇺🇸

I am  pleased to ship to the United States and offer worldwide international delivery.

Due to recent changes in customs and handling fees for parcels entering the United States, I have included all applicable customs duties and handling fees directly in the shipping cost at checkout.
For all USA orders, shipping is a flat rate of £20, which includes postage, customs charges and handling fees. This helps ensure a smoother delivery process with no unexpected charges on delivery.

All USA parcels are sent via Royal Mail International Tracked, and full tracking is provided for every order.

  • Delivery timeframe: Typically 5–7 working days, depending on location

  • Tracking: Included on all USA and international orders

I accept all major Credit / Debit Cards, Amex and IDEAL. You can also pay using ApplePay, GooglePay,  ClearPay. I no longer Accept PayPal.

Important Update: PayPal Payments No Longer Accepted

As a small, growing business where every item is handmade by me, I have had to make a difficult decision regarding payment options. I will no longer be accepting PayPal.

 

Recently, PayPal began charging me around 5.21% per transaction, especially for orders from my lovely customers in the United States. For a small handmade business, these fees add up quickly and make it hard for me to keep my prices fair.

 

To help you understand where this percentage comes from, here’s a simple breakdown of PayPal’s typical fees for international orders:

 

  • Standard fee: 3.49% of the total order amount

  • Fixed fee: 30p per transaction

  • Cross-border fee: An additional 1.5% for payments coming from the US to UK

 

 

These fees combined mean that for every £92 order, nearly £5 is taken before the payment even reaches me.

 

Because I hand-make every item myself and operate on very small margins, I can no longer justify absorbing these charges. To keep my products accessible and my business sustainable, I will now be accepting alternative payment methods only.

Refund Policy

At Silk Diversity, your satisfaction is our priority. If something isn’t quite right, we’re here to help. For any questions or to start a return, please email us at you@silkdiversity.com.

Return Eligibility - 30 Day Return Window

You may return your item within 30 days from the day you physically receive your order.
Please note:

  • Silk Diversity is UK-based, and all returns must be sent to our UK returns address.

  • Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs.

To initiate a return, simply email you@silkdiversity.com.

Condition of Items

To qualify for a return, items must be:

  • Unworn or unused

  • In the same condition as received

  • In original packaging, with all tags and contents included

We cannot accept items that show signs of use, unless the product is faulty.

Return Shipping

  • Please ensure your parcel is securely packaged to prevent damage during transit.

  • We strongly recommend obtaining proof of postage or a shipment receipt.

  • Taxes, duties and shipping fees for returns are not covered by Silk Diversity.

Refund Process - Processing Time

Once we receive and inspect your returned item, we’ll notify you of the approval status.
Approved refunds are usually processed within 48 hours.

Receiving Your Refund

Refunds are issued to your original payment method.
Please allow:

  • 3–5 business days for your bank or card provider to process it

  • In some cases, processing may take up to 10 business days

Additional Information

Damages or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or you receive the wrong item, please contact us immediately so we can resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Non-Returnable Items

For hygiene and safety reasons, we cannot accept used items, unless there is a confirmed fault.
Please also note that sale items are non-returnable.
